Siri - A Long Norwegian Winter

Jo Ann Bronzan

A compelling tale of a young, enthusiastic girl as she is nurtured by her family's love-and faces peril from the wild just beyond her farm.

Set in the early 1900s on a remote sheep farm in Norway, Siri contains episodes of adventure, excitement, and events that nurture a strong bond between Siri, an only child, and her parents.

"Siri made sure she was the first to get her skis off and put away. As she burst through the door, the smile on her face told it all. 'Mama, you won't believe what happened!' said Siri. 'We're going to get two of Lucy's puppies and Papa only has to give Mr. Leland two lambs. They should be born around the first of April and, oh, Mama, it's going to be wonderful again!'"

"As she rounded the corner she froze in her tracks. She was facing the biggest cougar anyone could ever imagine. Her chest felt like it had been struck by a thunderbolt. She couldn't breathe. Her legs were like jelly. She tried to move, but her body was stiff from fear. She wanted to scream, but her voice was locked in her throat unable to make a sound."

Bio: JO ANN P. BRONZAN is an avid knitter, processes and spins her own wool, and is a member and former president of a regional spinning guild. She resides in California with her husband. Siri, her first book, was inspired in part by her four wonderful granddaughters.
