Through an examination of the social, spiritual, and medical aspects of trauma comes a powerful story of survival.John Rizzo's powerful and uplifting memoir depicts the often multi-dimensional realities experienced by survivors of traumatic injury. Over five million Americans currently live with disabilities resulting from Traumatic Brain Injury. Author John Rizzo is one of these people. His life and survival is reflected in the social, spiritual, and medical aspects of trauma, alongside the often tragic state of today's dysfunctional family and society.
John Rizzo writes: "I was in a hospital with severe brain injury. I was semi-paralyzed on my right side: I couldn't speak or eat, I had double vision, I couldn't walk. And I was strapped to a bed for my own protection. But I do remember that room in the rehabilitation hospital-it was like no other room. More things happened to me in that one small space than had happened to me in my entire life."
Review: "It answers all the questions."
