The Magic Ring is a series of short stories about the lives of Bob and Lynn, told from their viewpoint and from those of the people their lives have touched, either briefly or profoundly. The stories follow Bob and Lynn from childhood to adulthood in an often roundabout way, interweaving to form a larger and more complete picture of their lives and influences.
In The Magic Ring, as in real life, everything is connected; everything has a consequence or reward. "Status" reveals how the careless actions of a stranger can permanently change the course of a person's life for better, while "A Rich and Happy Life," a loved one's influence negatively altered, maybe even ended, the life of another.
