Dr. Robert Jules and Dr. Simon Pierce are pioneers in the newly developing field of lobotomy, so when Harry Morgan comes to them suffering from severe depression, they see a chance to hone their skills while helping a patient recover. Pierce, a power-hungry egomaniac, convinces Harry that he must have the procedure to survive. After the operation is performed, Pierce is still not happy.
