Hippies

Peter Jedick

Kent State University, Ohio, 1969. Senior Matt Kubik is having a groovy time sharing an off-campus duplex with three quirky guys and four far-out hippie chicks. His only goal is to find true love and romance...until the anti-Vietnam war protests spin out of control.

Review: "Peter Jedick has done a great service in bringing not just Kent State but the entire 1960s to life."
-The Lantern, Ohio State University

"Hippies is a book about the times.... An historical snapshot of a college town...during a time Jedick likens to the Russian Revolution-a situation right out of Boris Pasternak's Dr. Zhivago."
-The Cleveland Free Times

"[Hippies] offers insight into the fascinating decade of the 1960s and serves as a quick, fun and entertaining story."
-The Daily Cardinal, University of Wisconsin

"Hippies...makes for an entertaining yet very realistic feeling of how a college student lived during such a wild era."
-The BG News, Bowling Green University

"Hippies...has been snapped up by college students across the country."
-Chicago Tribune

"Jedick's rosy narrative ends abruptly with the stark realities of three news photos..."
-The Akron Beacon Journal
