At the Lighthouse
Jean Brunk
Recorded in the correspondence of young lovers, At the Lighthouse paints a vivid picture of the Oregon coast and the fictional Lownes Head Lighthouse. Michael Gwilym, a young Welshman, has come to Lownes Head in the fall of 1927 to learn the art of lightkeeping. Living with his sister and her husband, Michael also shares living quarters with the lighthouse keeper and his family. A letter written to the keeper's sixteen-year-old daughter begins a written courtship that develops into an emotional and physical relationship.
